power consumption

I got a new computer with an AMD 1090t. I run mprime on Ubuntu64. When i start the program my power consumption becomes bigger than 280 watts. I read many tests at some hardware sites and their power consumption is under load aroun 200 watts. Can anyone explain this to me?
PS: I am not overclocking and i have an integreted gpu

Perhaps the test sites user "under load" to mean "under normal load". That is, when the computer is running a mix of programs which most people use. mprime is not a normal program in this sense. It is a program which results in an abnormal load.

Maybe the higher power consumption depends on the "bad" efficiency of your power supply.
