Our future looks bright. I’m stuck here until we make 10 years of paying National Insurance otherwise we cannot claim pension in another European country. (Not sure how that was handled under brexit agreement) H E L P.

Parameters to consider moving to a new European country: sunshine, wine, beach. Narrow down to Greece, Spain, Italy.

Please google for Boris Johnson Peppa Pig speech. Don’t laugh, this is serious.

I got curious about whether the BBC might have left something out of an ITV reporter's question in its account:
Quote:
But later, before heading back to Downing Street, the PM gave an interview to a reporter, who simply asked: "Is everything OK?"

Mr Johnson said he thought people had "got the vast majority of the points" he wanted to make and that the speech "went over well".
I looked elsewhere. The Daily Mail did not disappoint. BTW Lemsip is a cold remedy.
Quote:
Downing Street did not send out a full version of the speech until six hours after it was delivered, and even then it did not refer to his embarrassing confusion over what he was meant to say next. One government source quipped wryly to MailOnline that Mr Johnson - who still appears to have a heavy cold - might have had 'a bit too much Lemsip'.

A reporter challenged Mr Johnson afterwards: 'You lost your notes, you lost your place, you went off on a tangent about Peppa Pig - frankly, is everything okay?'

He replied: 'I think that people got the vast majority of the points I wanted to make, and I thought it went over well.'

(Or does this belong in the COVID thread over in the Lounge?)

Lord Frost resigns as Brexit minister
Quote:
The Mail on Sunday, which first reported the news, said he handed in his resignation a week ago, partly in disagreement with Covid curbs.

But in his letter to the prime minister, Lord Frost said now the arrangement to exit in January had been made public, he would leave with "immediate effect".
From Lord Frost's resignation letter in full we have
Quote:
We also need to learn to live with Covid and I know that is your instinct too. You took a brave decision in July, against considerable opposition, to open up the country again. Sadly it did not prove to be irreversible, as I wished, and believe you did too. I hope we can get back on track soon and not be tempted by the kind of coercive measures we have seen elsewhere.
