If I try to go to https://www.gpu72.com/ in IE it gives this message:

This page can’t be displayed

Turn on TLS 1.0, TLS 1.1, and TLS 1.2 in Advanced settings and try connecting to https://www.gpu72.com again. If this error persists, it is possible that this site uses an unsupported protocol or cipher suite such as RC4 (link for the details), which is not considered secure. Please contact your site administrator.

It works fine in Chrome.

Okay, so the problem is that the gpu72.com server doesn't have any ciphers supported by older IE on Windows 7. Have you both not installed IE 11? It should upgrade the SSL support.

This SSL Server Test shows the problem: only two ciphers are enabled, neither are supported by old IE on Windows 7.

I am using IE 11 to get the above error. It says to turn on TLS 1.0,1.1,1.2, but they are already on in the settings.

Thanks Mark! That helped me a lot!!!

I'm afraid the GPU72 server is so old that I can't quickly enable TLS 1.2, nor harden the DH Group. But hopefully what I was able to do is enough to allow people to connect from IE >=7 and MISFIT again.

I'll look at going "all the way", but that's going to involve compiling and installing OpenSSL and Apache by hand.

OK, thanks for the report. I see your MISFIT successfully fetched work after I made some changes to the SSL configuration.

I can't visit the www.gpu72.com website on that same machine.
Ditto for www.mersenne.org.

I can get to mersenne.ca and mersenneforum.org just fine.

If someone else did something magical. thanks.
Otherwise it was me; I uninstalled an expired trial of MalwareBytes Antivirus
and installed AVG Free.

Now it works.

Nope wasn't that.
After a power outage this computer forgets to set the clock and thinks it is 2010.
Fixed now.
