I have no doubt. With many others, doing so would have went over like the proverbial turd in the punch-bowl.

All kinds of very dark jokes went through my head, including Carbon Neutrality when our Sun sums our nets.

We are where we find ourselves at this instance in time.

Manage the situation.

.
I remember reading about this when it was newly reported. What astonished me is the quantity of drugs he was purportedly consuming. I don't believe any of it. No human being could survive the quantities he claimed nor is there any possibility of "building up" to those levels. They would completely shut down your autonomous nervous system. In fact, this is how terminal patients end their lives; your body just stops: digestive system, breathing, and heart just ease down and cease.
The logical explanation is that the greedy b@st@rd was selling them for big bucks. He has become a drug dealer, plain and simple.

He was getting pain pill scrips from several different doctors, and getting all the scrips filled at the same pharmacy. I read he got 2000 Ocycontin pills over six months, which works out to a bit over 11 pills a day. I don't know how much drug each pill had.

He had previously opined that people who did what he did should be tried, convicted, and imprisoned.

Of course, none of those things happened to him. He made a deal with prosecutors and walked. He just had to undergo treatment for his addiction and stay out of trouble with the law for some time. Charges dropped. No trial, no conviction, no criminal record.

I never heard whether he had changed his views on how other people who did what he did should be treated.

For Irv Cross, the eighth of 15 children in an impoverished family in Hammond, Ind., football was a lifeline, a gateway to a Northwestern degree, a pro career and the first full-time sports analyst job on network television for a Black man.

Cross joined CBS Sports in 1971, covering a variety of sports and paving a way for other Black athletes to get into broadcasting.

His big break was in 1975 when he was named analyst on CBS' revamped "The NFL Today," which under Bob Wussler, a former boss at Chicago's WBBM-TV, established a template for the modern game-day studio show.

Revised to 13. Out of about 25 in the SUV. In a vehicle equipped to legally seat 6, design limit ~9.
