Thanks for fixing the auto-submit.

You're welcome...

Somewhat ironically, this is an example of where "a human is still in the loop". In this case, me...

Primenet requires that each CPU exchange deep knowledge interaction at least once every week or else it won't accept any results. This includes the "Virtual Machines" tied to your GPU72_TF machine.

It's on my "to-do list" to automate that. But, unfortunately, my to-do list is rather long, and multidimensional...

This exponent was automatically submitted with a factor found to Primenet, but it remains in my list of notebook instance results.

Code:
UID: jaxbuilder/Colab, found 1 factor for M106579087 from 2^75 to 2^76 (partially tested) [mfaktc 0.21 barrett76_mul32_gs]

Why do I have all these repetitive entries on the GIMPS site? I have a bunch of entries showing zero credit for factoring to 76. This is just one example; a lot of exponents look the same way. I think these were before you fixed the auto-submit problem.

These seven exponents are duplicated over and over in my GIMPS work results details.

Hmmm... This is something new... The GPU72 code paths have not changed at all.

Previously if the Virtual Machine hadn't checked in and a result submission was attempted Primenet would simply ignore it. Now it seems it accepts the result but still returns an error message. Rinse and repeat.

This shouldn't happen on your account again. I'll bump up the priority on the Automatic Machine Update thing.

Beyond that, George and/or Aaron, any ideas on this delta? And can you fix Chuck's duplicate results please?

Can the time between saves for the GPU72 Colab notebook be set to 5 minutes? We are loosing a lot of the work attempted. I am getting runs of 9 to 12 minutes that are not advancing the the ball.

I stopped using my Colab after my paid subscription ran out, since I was getting 10 minutes run times (on a paid account!).

Its been a few months since then, and after seeing this thread I thought maybe I'd give it a go again (this time on my free account).

Ran 6 minutes and stopped.

Oh well.

I rejoined Colab paid version after a five month lapse. In the last three weeks since rejoining, I have been getting 24 hour run times, sometimes with a V100. I take a break of eight hours or so after the session stops.

Last fiddled with by Chuck on 2021-03-25 at 00:44 Reason: Take break

I don't know whats going on but when I was part of Chris cool auto colab app a year ago I was getting 2 or 3 hours. in September I decided to try to get GPUOwl running. Since then I get a P100 for each of my 2 email addresses every day that last about 8 hours each.

My guess would be Colab deems everyone part of the Chris tool are sharing his session.
I don't know how or if its possible but if somehow it could be distributed/uncoupled... then maybe times would get back to decent?
