Answering the topic's question, in case you're married and your wife is the finance minister then she rules the allowances. I'm trying to convince my wife to invest on a 1000 GBP xeon server but it has been a tough fight. I am always knocked out...

You describe my habits pretty closely, down to the breakfast-in-hotels details. I eat closer to 6 PM, but the idea is the same. For whatever reasons, I am just not motivated early, beyond midday snacks.

This option might be worth trying:

even if you don’t live in a high-altitude area, simply going to one could lead to weight loss. A group of 20 obese and sedentary men were brought to an elevation of 8,700 ft. and were permitted to eat as much as they wanted but were not allowed to do any exercise except for strolling. After a single week, they lost an average of more than 3 lbs. When they returned back to their low altitude communities, the men maintained an average weight loss of 2 lbs.

The general life expectancy, e.g. in 2009, increased from low altitude (<251 m) to higher altitudes (1001 to about 2000 m) by about 2 years, in males from 76.7 to 79.1 years and in females from 82.1 to 84.1 years
I spend a lot of my time at ~5900 ft / 1800 m. Do I look thinner and younger than most people my age? You decide, pictures are attached!
