I've just revisited how to construct a square with
the same area as a given rectangle.

Can anyone see how this might help cutting up a rectangular
slice of cheese so that it fits a square biscuit of the same area?

My cheese rectangles were 4 x 1, but the square biscuits had area 5.

Taking 5 slices of cheese, I made 3 cuts and successfully tiled 4 biscuits
with the resulting pieces.
Only one or two of them fell on the floor during consumption!
