A short Python script that generates all the possible numbers from given digits. I'm not sure whether I should post it here. Using the script obviously makes it pretty pointless to generate numbers by hand. On the other hand you could compare things like "which digits generate most consecutive numbers from 0" - for example 31415926 fails at 607 already. |

Killjoy :-)
I was lazily thinking about running the same-ish script and then I thought that people will say "Killjoy!" so I didn't. ![]() |

you missed an 8
In fact, the 2*5 combination is quite welcomed to make tens, hehe 90 = 8*2*5 + 8 + 9/9 + 3/3 Edit: 91=(8*2*5/8)*9 +9/3/3 (we also found another two combinations for 90) Last fiddled with by LaurV on 2019-01-12 at 06:01 |

99=8/2+5+8+9*9+3/3
100=8+2-5+8+9*9+3+3 101=8*2+5+8+9*9-3*3 While searching for 99, I've found several representations for 100: 100=8/2+5+8+9*9+3/3 100=8*2-5+8+9*9+3-3 100=8+2*5-8+9*9+3*3 100=8*2+5-8+9*9+3+3 Interesting, how many total of them exists? Last fiddled with by unconnected on 2019-01-14 at 13:19 |
