I was contemplating a laptop for school and I was wondering: since nearly all computers sold today have Windows XP loaded, does Prime95 run on either Windows 2000 or on Windows XP? I understand they have a different file system and I was wondering if this would be a problem.

No problem. It runs on 95, 98, ME, XP, NT and 2000. No worry about the way things are stored on the HD.
