It’s been some time since I used Prime95 to troubleshoot a new build but I got a new Intel 3930k setup and I noticed that when one of the Workers fails the icon in the Prime95 application next to the Worker number and the one in the system tray no longer turn red. It would be great if it played a sound file when one failed but now I don’t even get a color change on the icon. :( I thought everything was fine for a time until noticed that some of the workers had failed.

Hmm... I don't know about older version, but my guess would be that it only turns red when ALL workers stop (i.e. all workers fail). Even if one failed, the others would still continue torture testing and so the icon would remain green. OTOH, it is a good idea/feature request.

I understand and my memory is not as good as it used to be but I know I never had all threads fail and I know I looked many times for that icon to change color and when it went red I knew I had a fault. Maybe they changed it. For now I just move the mouse over to see the list of workers but it was nicer to just eyeball the icon in the system tray.

64-bit prime95 has had problems changing the icon color for many years. The MFC libraries that work perfectly for Win32 don't work for Win64. I looked into it long ago and couldn't find an easy fix. Maybe MS fixed MFC in a latter version of the C compiler, but I'm still building with MSVC 2005.
