if i close my laptop will prime95 still run or will it just stop?

If you have your laptop set to sleep, hibernate, or shut-down when you close the lid, it will behave like anyother program. Sleep stops all programs, when you wake the computer, everything continues.

If you have your laptop set to stay fully-on when you close the lid, Prime95 will stay running. It is advised that you not close the lid if the computer remains fully on, the heat build-up is bad.

Depends on your operating system and hardware. XP and Vista will allow you to configure what happens when the laptop is closed. It's in the power options.
