Default Status of Fermat Search

It has been more than 10 months since the last status update to http://www.fermatsearch.org. When can we expect to see an update to see which ranges are reserved and which are completed?

I repeatedly tried to contact Leonid Durman. It seems that his email account doesn't work properly, or that he's working too hard to get to it.

I asked him to update the status page myself; he kindly answered he accepted my help, but since then (March) I had no message from him...

Is there anyone who has his email address, can try and contact him again? My emails don't get answers anymore.

On the FermatNumbers list at yahoo:
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/FermatNumbers/
Takahiro Nohara and I have posted ranges for n=29, 30, 31, and 50 that we are currently searching. Maybe until Leonid gets his website current again, could we start a thread here for people to reserve ranges that they want to search? I would assume that most of the ranges reserved on Leonid's site have been searched by now, but maybe people who have searched beyond that could let us know what they are working on, or what they would like to work on so that we can continue the factoring on Fermat numbers without duplicating effort. It would be nice to see some progress in this area, but I think many people have held off working on it, not knowing what the current status is.

Phil Moore
searched: n=29, k=60e12 to 90e12
working on: n=29, k=90e12 to k=100e12

Takahiro Nohara:
working on: n=30, k=75e12 to 150e12
n=31, k=100e12 to 150e12
and n=50, k=10e12 to 30e12

Leonid's program is excellent, but you might want to check out Mark Grogue's factoring program also.

That's fine! ;-)

I will update the page tonight. Let's keep in touch for next updating, 'cause I'll take Leonid's updating work as long as he's away.

You are referring to my program. My first name is Mark, but mgrogue (or rogue) are different IDs I use in different forums. Thanks for the plug.

I tried to update the status pages; please tell me if there are errors I don't know if there are more ranges that you or Takahiro have completed (i.e. n=2000-2199 seems stuck at 2116...).

Have any new factors been found since last November?

I don't believe any new factors have been found since Nov. 1, 2003. Wilfrid Keller is generally pretty diligent about keeping his status page up to date, and new factors are often announced in the Yahoo FermatNumbers mailgroup before the status pages get updated. Several large Proths k*2^n+1 with small k have been discovered since November, but none of them divides a Fermat number.

Luigi, I don't see your updates on www.fermatsearch.org yet.

Never mind, Luigi, I see your updates on the "People Status" page.

I tried to update the "probability" field but it works with natural logarithm only when there is a range of n, while it doesn't when there is a unique n.

May you shed some light on it?
