There was no prospect of a standoff. They had all agreed to end their lives the way they did. They made preparations, including leaving instructions not to attempt resuscitation if any of them were found injured but alive, and drugging the family dog so it wouldn't attack first responders.

Although two weapons were found at the scene - a Sig Sauer AR-15 and a Smith & Wesson M&R Shield 9mm pistol, the only shell casings reported were 9mm, indicating the Smith & Wesson pistol was the only weapon used.

It seems the 26-YO daughter Morgan Daub had decided she had to kill herself and told her 59-YO mother Deborah Daub. She didn't want to go on without her daughter. 62-YO father James Daub seemed to have been hesitant at first but decided to go with them.

I don't understand why none of them seem to have considered alternatives, such as treatment for Morgan's obvious mental problems. I would hazard a guess that they were in a state of extreme social isolation.

She (and it seems the whole family) had become heavy Qanon Kool-Aid drinkers.

Besides the 6-second video Morgan posted just before committing suicide, she posted two others I am aware of.

This one was from mid-September 2022. It shows only a sign or banner saying "Behold, the days are coming" and has about half an hour of her speaking. Perhaps the most disconcerting thing about it is, how similar it is to any number of other IQ45 cultists I have heard.

Governor General's office closes social media comments after a wave of hateful remarks

The office of Canada's Governor General says it is turning off comments on all of its social media accounts due to an influx of abusive comments and "violent threats."

A statement was posted on the Governor General's Twitter account Monday that outlined the decision.

"In recent months we have witnessed an increase in abusive, misogynistic and racist engagement on social media and online platforms, including a greater number of violent threats," the statement reads.

"As a result, we will be turning off comments on our social media platforms to ensure that all those who consult our information can do so in an environment that is respectful to all."

This is not this child's fault. He is not a threat.

So says a "mental health advocate." IMO the video (two stills attached) says different.

The "child" is 6 months shy of his 18th birthday, is 6 feet six inches tall, and weighs 270 pounds. A teacher's aide took away his Nintendo Switch gaming device. He put her in the hospital, and she's lucky he didn't put her in the morgue. It took five people to drag him off his victim, and even then he kept kicking her until he was dragged far enough away that his foot couldn't reach her.

He has been charged as an adult with aggravated battery on a school board member.

"Not his fault" might be a legally viable argument ("mental disease or defect"), but if someone testified in court that he was "not a threat" then IMO the judge should immediately declare them insane.
