A company "sells" a book to you and changes it after the sale (or "destroys" it by removing the possibility to decrypt it.)

Besides, removing everything "nasty" from books removes the possibility to discuss "nastyness".

I notice the article itself has self-censored the word “n-----” (with the quotes). Is it really the case that even writing out a word, regardless of the context, is so extremely bad that we should never do it? How am I supposed to know what the word is if they don't even show it? What if it used a Cyrillic "е" instead of the ASCII "e" (yes, those two letters really are different characters), would that make spelling it out okay?
