Default Mathematics definition

What is your personal definition of mathematics?
Here is mine:
"Olvidarse de los problemas terrenales, para ocuparse de los divinos."
I dont know how to translate it.

"To forget the earthly problems, to take care of the divine ones."
That's the translation. I found it using Google (http://translate.google.com/translate_t). It didn't detect 'terrenales', but I found with a Spanish-English online dictionary that 'terrenal' means 'earthly', so I just changed that part manually.
