Not sure if this is a fluke, being that I just setup this port, but...
Port 7000 has 6064 remaining knpairs.txt - Size: 66,747 Last Access: 09/10/2008 09:11 PM first k/n pair 175 605401 last k/n pair 637994 185 Code:

The k and n values have been reversed in your server. What is going on? For instance, this: Code:
618040*2^175-1 (etc.) Code:
175*2^618040-1 (etc.) 1. Stop your server now. 2. Send me all of the results files for today. 3. Send me all of the applicable files in your server, i.e. knpairs.txt, joblist.txt, and whatever else contains any kind of k/n pairs in them. I will delete all incorrect results and k/n pairs in the appropriate files, put the correct ones in the files, and post them back here. You'll then need to reload the knpairs.txt, joblist.txt, etc. into your server. You'll then need to put the correct results file in your directory so that when your process runs tomorrow to post them on your web page, it will put the correct one out there. How did this happen? The files were correct. At this point, we may lose an entire night's processing from Bruce, who had 14+ cores on it. Since we have to shut down your server, it's unlikely his machines will reconnect after an extended period of shutdown, although that is possible. I'll cross my fingers. I'll be waiting here for a response. I think it should take me < 1/2 hour for me to straighten out the files assuming that understand them correctly. Edit: I just now realized that the server has dried. No shutdown necessary of course. Thanks, Gary Last fiddled with by gd_barnes on 2008-09-11 at 06:16 Reason: put primes in code |

funny side effect of this...
We cleaned the entire server in about 1.5 hours! lol I just now noticed that my 2 connected quads have been sitting idle since 11:30 CDT (04:30 GMT). Those small exponents LLR real fast! ![]() Everything processed great through the first range that ended at n=610000. Then the k and n values switched for the n=618000-620000, 625000-630000, and 635000-638000 files. Edit: Where did you go IronBits? We need you! Last fiddled with by gd_barnes on 2008-09-11 at 06:29 |

This looks strange on your web page also:
Port 7000 has 140 remaining knpairs.txt - Size: 1,583 Last Access: 09/10/2008 10:11 PM first k/n pair 175 605401 last k/n pair 26000000000000:M:1:2:258 149 Why does the last k/n pair look like the header record? I'm guessing it has to do with the fact that the server has nothing to process right now but there are k/n pairs that have been sent and have not been received back yet. Where oh where is David? I am leaving out of town around noon CDT (5 PM GMT) on Thursday for 8 days. If this doesn't get fixed, my 2 quads will be forced to process all manual ranges for that time. What I'll probably do is reserve the k/n pairs that I sent to David (an n=10K range in 3 pieces) and have him load up n=650K-660K in his server. (We'll run a test on it after the new range is loaded.) At least we're mostly complete to n=610K! ![]() Last fiddled with by gd_barnes on 2008-09-11 at 06:40 |

email sent. ack! Danger! Will Robinson Danger!
Server is down waiting. This is a sample of one of the files you sent me. Also each file had that long line in it, so I removed all but the first one. 26000000000000:M:1:2:258 149 618004 199 618009 265 618009 115 618013 229 618015 289 618015 175 618017 229 618019 Last fiddled with by IronBits on 2008-09-11 at 06:53 |

Carlos, this looks completely correct. Do you see anything that could have caused the server to reverse the k/n pairs? For everyone's reference here, I'm attaching the joblist.txt, primes.txt, and results.txt files. David, is there anything in the knpairs.txt file? Gary |

The only thing I see incorrect in the joblist.txt file is the very last record:
["26000000000000:M:1:2:258/149"] = { ["seconds"]=1221105524, ["k"]="26000000000000:M:1:2:258", ["user"]="McDuck", ["date"]="10/09/2008 08:58:44 PM", ["status"]="working", ["n"]="149", } Edit: The primes files should just be empty. All small exponents. I'll post corrected files after I sort out the corrected results files. Last fiddled with by gd_barnes on 2008-09-11 at 06:55 |

I should delete that last line with :M: in it and it should be good to go?

Please check if there is a blank line between the kn pairs.
Is it possible that the server is being attacked? That's very odd. |

Oops, I didn't see the knpairs.txt file that you sent me in an Email. Could the issue be that there are 2 header records in the knpairs.txt file? I see that now. THAT may be the issue! Carlos and David, would you agree? David, I'll call you shortly. It's always fun chatting with people from the forum. ![]() Gary |

Ironbits,
YES, delete that line. Check for more between the kn pairs. Gary probably added the header when he was creating the knpairs for the server. Last fiddled with by em99010pepe on 2008-09-11 at 07:01 |
