Default I am logged in already but BBS does not recognize my account

Is the user name and password for the BBS different from the GIMPS user/pass?
It says I am not logged in (even though I am) and it will not allow my user name and password as a valid entry.

If you make the process irritating enough, people won't want to help.

This website is neither officially nor technologically linked in any way to GIMPS/PrimeNet.

That said, this is unofficially the "official" forum for GIMPS, but you still need to create a separate account. You can use any user/pass you want, it need not have anything in common with your GIMPS account.

Or (to be extra pedantic), you can use the same name/pass as your GIMPS account, but your existing GIMPS info will not be automagically transferred from GIMPS.

Is the agitas really necessary? Why would you assume that the registration process has been purposefully created to be difficult? When you travel to a new land, do you ask questions in an attempt to educate and acclimate yourself to the norms and cultures, or do you simply wantonly cast unfair and unwarranted aspersions on the locals?

There are tens of thousands of people participating in GIMPS, who are not only happy to help the project, but are also willing to learn and share that knowledge with others. Some of them are even able and willing to negotiate the apparently taxing and tedious registration that is a prerequisite for participation in this forum and its discussions. We would love for you to be among them.

If you make the process too easy, this forum would be crawling with spam.
(And it was easy before, and it was indeed crawling with spam.)
