Poaching and v5

Okay, the v5 server IS going to have anti-poaching stuff in place right? One of my exponents just got poached recently; I only found out today. For what reason I have no idea, since it was TF (exponent 24349021). Fortunately, my computer wasn't working on it yet.

Hey, an evil-genius-type idea just occurred to me. What better way to get ahead in the stats than by poaching other peoples exponents? Poacher sends results in first, thus getting the credit for it. It also has the added effect of meaning the person the exponent was originally assigned to doesn't get credit AND has wasted a whole bunch of CPU time, while the poacher is working on another exponent, thus allowing him/her to get even further ahead.

Generating a unique nonce with each assignment, and requiring that nonce for any communication involving that assignment would work.

How would this affect the mersenne-aries work. We go ahead of the leading edge of double checking doing all the p-1 work before the double checking gets to them. Would we still be able to do this work as the exponents are never assigned to us??

Wise of you to ask, it's not a word to be used lightly - a nonce is a sexual offender, specifically of young children, a non-person, a "good for nothing". (Cassell's Dictionary of Slang.)

A nonce-word is a word that is only intended to be used once e.g. trichomaniac for "a hair fetishist" or ventripotential for having a large abdomen. They aren't the sort of words that you're likely to use twice. It is in this latter sense that it has become applied to unique numbers.

Probably Scott has made P-1 a type of work you can request. At least I hope so, a lot of people have been clamoring for that.
