I don't have an AMD64 but the latest LLR still has a bug which does not start if a save file exists. I have told Jean and he said that he will look into it. Try deleting any save files -- these begin with a 'y' or an 'z' and have 6 numbers following in their file names. Then start LLR and DO NOT stop it as this will create a save file. Also if you use "start at boot up" a save file is created when you shut down. Another tip: set "minutes between disk writes" to 999999. Try that an let us know. I believe a fast P4 is still quicker than an AMD64 for LLR.

I've tried the new LLR on an Opteron (under Linux) without any problems.

But I've found that it disables IBDWT when testing k>31 and n>10000 (surprisingly it uses IBDWT below n=10000). One can force the use of IBDWT for k>31 by adding the following line into the llr.ini file:

CpuSupportsSSE2=0

Sounds like it is related to the SSE2 code accuracy thing we know from Prime95.
