We don't have direct access to httpd.conf so we have to use .htaccess files. I'm not too keen on encapsulating the files in php.

My goal is for 99% success. I accept there will be some weird combinations out there that will break the scheme.

Lumo: What browser?
Dear Xyzzy, it was MSIE 6.0 under U.S. Windows with Czech set as a default language, but you should not worry about it. When I click the en.txt version, it opens the correct TXT file in Notepad (externally). Best wishes, LuboŇ°

It is between 0.013 and 0.015 sec/iter . 0.014 in average I think.
Here is the last iteration:

I think I have it set up to determine if the requesting browser supports gzip and then it sends the gzipped version to the browser, which then (hopefully) uncompresses it on the fly.

So far the page works in FF1.5 and IE6.

If it works then we'll cut our bandwidth by half.

Thanks!
works in:

Camino 0.8.4
Camino 1.0b1
Firefox 1.0.7
IE 5.2.2
Netscape 7.2
Safari 2.0.2

on OS X 10.4.3

I think you mean this. I'll be interested to help such a search. If I understand the page correctly M40 doesn't qualify because 20996011=3 mod 8, and 1 mod 3. But M41-43 can produce primitive trinomials, as many as 3 or more per exponent. The question is what's the cpu time per test since we'll have to do close to 1 million tests to expect to find such a trinomial with a decent probability (?)
