I have a tricky problem. I have a bunch of partially finish LL-tests from computers which I do not use anymore. I made some backups but the only thing which I have is the pNNNNNNN files. No worktodo.ini file. No information which exponent the pNNNNNNN files belong to. I have erased the cpus from the PrimeNet Server, so I cannot find the exponent there either.
Is there a way to resume the tests if the only information I have is the pNNNNNNN files? ![]() With best wishes, Åke Last fiddled with by aketilander on 2011-09-03 at 09:29 |

Hmm, the server might know which exponents those were.....especially if you weren't anonymous. Check your assignment list. A special favor might be possible too, since I'm certain the server has backups and logs of things like that.
P95 will have to comment on whether the full exponent was included in the backup files. |

The question of which exponents they are can be read from the name of the files. The number of millions is encoded in the initial two letters, and the six digits which follow are the rest of the exponent. As an example: pR311621 is the exponent 27311621. The letters cycle on through the alphabet in a certain sense, so I believe pQ...... files are 26M exponents, and pS...... are 28M. In any case if you post the names of the pXNNNNNN files someone will tell you which exponents they are and their status can be looked up on PrimeNet which will be a start.

Thank you Brian! This is helping me a lot. Since, in most cases, I have finished the P-1 of the exponents it is easy to guess the first 2 digits even though I don't now exactly how to convert the letter to digits.
