I figured that people who are new to the search can pick bases from this list with low k to get their feet wet. In the same vein as the untested Sierp conjectures thread, attached is all Riesel conjectures sorted by size, that is conjectured-k.

2010-01-22, 09:55 #3 gd_barnes     May 2007 Kansas; USA 27F316 Posts An interesting side question has popped into my head about all of this: I wonder if Riesel base 280 with a conjecture of a ridiculous k=~513.6T is higher conjectured than ANY other base? At this moment in time, it's higher than all KNOWN bases but we don't know for sure that it's conjecture is correct or if there is a base > 1024 that might have a higher conjecture. I think the math gurus on this forum might have a little fun with this. Last fiddled with by gd_barnes on 2010-01-22 at 09:56

There's no use in encouraging starting new bases more than we already do. We have too many stickies as it is.

There have been a lot of new bases started since the last time I updated this so it has now been updated.

2010-03-22, 07:16 #7 gd_barnes     May 2007 Kansas; USA 3×7×487 Posts I did want to make sure these untested threads don't die so I am keeping them up to date. If anyone sees a base on the list in the 1st or 2nd post here or in the Sierp thread that has either been reserved or already has work done on it, please let me know. AFAIAC, keep your results to yourself or publish them elsewhere. I don't recall anyone expressing interest in seeing more conjectures added to this project. There is enough work for this project to keep everyone (currently involved) busy for decades.

2010-04-20, 07:58 #10 10metreh     Nov 2008 44228 Posts With what parameters was Riesel k=280 (the one with the highest conjectured k) tested (assuming covering.exe was used)? I have managed to reduce the conjecture to k=253971311388192, although that one will still not be proved for a long time! Oddly, the original conjectured k of 513613045571841 didn't show up at all in my run of covering 144 280 -1 100000 1000000000000000. BTW: no conjectures up to 1200 are larger than that (the largest I've found so far is 1150 481388992590). Last fiddled with by 10metreh on 2010-04-20 at 08:05
