Default Question On Credit Stats

I was just checking in on my account stats and found something interesting and wanted to know if someone had an answer.

Under the section "Exponents Cleared since last Synchronization" it only brings up 2 results

10659949
10911763

but there should be at least 3 more factors in that list

11226179
11373751
11466083

This is because I submitted these results all at the same time as they were all part of 60 P-1 tests that I was doing (from a earlier thread). Does anyone know why I got credited with the top 2 but not the other 3.

Also, my "exponents with factor" is only 2 when it should be 5. I used the semi-automated way of sending in the results. I don't understand why I got credit for some but not for all. I submitted the results all at the same time. Anyone have any ideas???

We'll have to wait and see if all five factors make it into the next version of the database files.

If you do manually-assigned P-1 tests like the ones in this forum, there's no guarantee that you can get Primenet credit for them. It's possible that the server is giving Primenet credit for manually-assigned results under 11M but not over. That is, perhaps results under 11M are automatically assigned to you, while those over 11M are rejected as not being assigned to you. The exact workings of the server are a bit of a mystery.

I can try creating sets of P-1 exponents that are all under 11M to try to avoid this problem.

In general if you use the semi-automated method, you should use it to get assignments rather than running the manual sets of exponents proposed in this forum.

Can you explain what you mean by the semi-automated method? If you mean the manual submissions page, the factors should show up in your individual page but you probably will not get Primenet credit in terms of CPU years for teh work done.

I described the semi-automated method in this post:
http://mersenneforum.org/showthread....1671#post11671

It's a way of working around the fact that the server doesn't have a separate P-1 type of work.

But to use that method, you rely on assignments from the Primenet server, rather than the manual assignments listed in the threads here. So I'm not sure what Dave meant by using the sem-authomated method to check in results which were manually assigned.

What I do is I turn of Prime95 from automatically conecting to the server. I then put in all the Pfactor in my work to do file. When it is all finished, I tell it to connect to the server and it sends all my results in.

I got this method from the thread "Two priority triple-check exponents"

I am not all that worried about not getting the credit for it. I am more just curious as to why some showed up and some didn't. I also just wanted to make sure that all my results did get checked in properly. Or should I just use the manual pages from now on to be safe?

I'm not sure what the server does when you try to check in a result using Primenet for an exponent that you weren't assigned.

I thought that it accepts the result but doesn't give you credit... but it's possible that it simply outright rejects the result. I'll do an experiment to test this.

In any case, when the next weekly release of the data files comes out, I'll verify all the results posted here to make sure they made it into the data files.

The server accepts all results, regardless of who the exponent was assigned to, or even whether it was assigned to anyone. This is why poaching is possible.
