Okay I will have a go here. Looking at your machines I would recommend that you do this range:
53.5 - 54 M.
This range is currently at 61 bits so you can factor it to 62 bits. In order to generate the worktodo.ini you should download the following files:
ftp://mersenne.org/gimps/decomp.zip
ftp://mersenne.org/gimps/nofactor.zip

unzip both files and then on the commandline run the command

decomp -w 53500000 54000000

This creates an output file 'nofactor' that you have to rename to worktodo.ini and move it to the directory in which you have MPrime or P95.
In the file prime.ini that comes with MPrime or P95 add the following line:
FactorOverride=62

And then start Prime95. If you still need help, please post here.

PS: If English is not your first language, what other language(s) are you comfortable in?

And don´t forget that while doing LMH work you shouldn´t use Primenet for reporting results. To keep your computing from connecting to the server, go to Test -> Primenet in the Prime95 window, and uncheck the "Use Primenet to get work and report results" field.
When your work finishes, email the results.txt file to woltman at alum.mit.edu.
Have fun!

thanks for answer, garo.

My favor language?
german.

Download is ok. The rest, I think i will not have so much problems.

This (your) guide should be written to another home page and the link in
http://www.mersenne.org/range2.htm
should not go to the forum but to the guiding homepage.

Another point is: who knows, what range and what factoring is free? The list ist imho too difficult to find.

Anyway, thanks for help, i´ll be back, if it works.

Regards

@ lycorn: I have choosen this not easy manual way, because those PC´s have no Internet conection and so is primenet not available. Transmitting only by USB Stick;))) Thanks.

Though it's not obvious to a beginner, "Lone Mersenne Hunters" is all about doing "unofficial" work outside the ranges being officially assigned by PrimeNet and by George Woltman (on range2.htm). But LMH are cooperating with official GIMPS and are very careful to keep our LMH assignments/reservations away from those official GIMPS ranges.

That is why the range2.htm should not point to garo's instructions.

The LMH do all that here in this forum. You need to find the assignment threads within this forum, not on the GIMPS page, if you want to do LMH work.
