Okay forget about 1. I read the read the readme.txt

Instead let me ask: If (as it says on the website)
"Bit depths for wide will start at no less than 50 and run up to no more than 55 (at present)" then why does the worktodo.ini's you get from the site all go xxxxxxxx,1,50 ?????

OH

For the wide sieving i think it means they will be sieved to a minimum of no less than 50bits before a deep sieve is done on the individual remaining numbers.

M332192831 no factor from 2^65 to 2^66.
M332192831 no factor from 2^66 to 2^67.
M332192831 no factor from 2^67 to 2^68.

the quote you cited means checking a "wide" range means checking it to at least 50 bits. If nobody has checked it before, the text file will have you start at 1 bit and end at 50, thus the "xxxx,1,50" in the text files.

If someone has already run a batch, the file will read something like "xxxxx,50,53" which means trial-factor the number starting at 50 bits and ending at 53 bits. This implies all the numbers have been checked up to 50 bits.

Hope this helps.

M332193833 no factor from 2^60 to 2^63.
M332193469 no factor from 2^61 to 2^64.

One remaining is 332192831, 65 to 70. This is still being worked on.

These results does not appear on the website. Is the project dead or is the admin on vacation?

Well guys... since the admin isn't updating his site and it's very frustrating to work on ranges already worked on... I've hosted a new site at http://frase.250free.com/mdpp.htm ... It's basically the same site, but the deep (and only the deep) ranges are up to date according to the thread... I'm planning on doing an update on the wide ranges as well...

P.S: Could factor 3_3 have a "nice" (read idle priority) mode?
EDIT:Well... Seems like the wide ranges are just a mess... Uncwilly needs to fix that, there's nothing I can do...
EDIT2: Thanks Luigi, link corrected!

Thanks,

Fetofs

Great idea! Bravo!
I was getting worried that the project died..

If you need some n00b-help documents, you can link to my guide from your page
Speaking of which, should I change the "email the administrator" thing?

OH

I don't know exactly, but the best thing (probably) would be to post results in this forum... What do the others think?

Uncwilly used to take care of the forum. Unless he publicly accepts the exchange, I guess it would be both safer and more correct to stay on the forum for checkouts and results.

Is there some kind of script to transform factor3_2b's result file into a worktodo.ini with the exponents not factored yet?
