IRC Chat Possibility??

I was wondering what people thought about setting up an irc chat room to work in conjunction with the mersenneforum. I think that it would help new comers out a lot more because they would get there questions answered more quickly. And rather than answering their query with a query of our own about their problem which goes back an forth for a couple of days, we could sent them straight in just a couple of minutes.

Anyways, what do you think. Also, what is a popular server that everyone uses???

I know about that chat room that was set up, but what I was thinking is that if it was on irc, most people already have irc open so would just stay logged in, where as the chat room that was set up needed your internet browser to stay open as well, which was cycles that people didn't want to lose. Anyways, it was just a thought.

I'm often in UnderNet's #userfriendly and #callahans between around 9PM and Midnight (Central Time).

If you're not familier with UnderNet, check www.undernet.org - they have a list of servers somewhere on there - UnderNet is one of the 2 or 3 most popular IRC networks.

We have registered the channel and our bot set up... When you first join up, type "/msg rainbot hello" and you will be registered with the bot... The next time you join the chat the bot will op you...

We're having a lot of fun!
