I've had a few recent comments that the ftp server is working even worse than usual; sysadmin has installed a new FTP server which ought to fail less than the old one.

Finished 67-71. I see you've reserved 73-83. Do you want more beyond that? If so, I'll take 83-87. If not, I can start working on another number I saw pop up recently... ;) ***cough***3^512+1***cough***

Anyway, hopefully I cat'ed the files together correctly (first time doing that). I'll look for the ** by that reservation to see if I should upload again (or not). Oh, and about the ftp server, when I used the ftp provided by cygwin, I started sending 60-61 in, and after a short while, I got a message "connection terminated by remote host" (or some such). I tried uploading again, and after a bit got the same message. So, I downloaded a gui ftp client (filezilla) and when I went to that directory, I saw that my whole file was there. (I re-uploaded again just in case, but it was definitely all there) Apparently, when the file finishes uploading, I get disconnected right away. I don't mind since I'm done uploading, but maybe this is part of what others are seeing?

The 67-71 upload worked fine.

Go ahead with 83-87; 73-83 will take me about a week, by which time 83-87 should also be complete. I'll stare at some charts and fit some curves tomorrow evening (by which time 17-25 will have finished), and see if we're likely to need to go much beyond 90. At the moment I guess 90 should suffice.

90 ought to be fine, and indeed should give a fair amount of over-sieving and hopefully a nice quick matrix. Ideally I'd like to have the factorisation finished by the time I leave for Kiev on April 12, and leave ten cores running 3+512 for two weeks while I take in the sights of Ukraine, and I think that fits if I start the linear-algebra stage when I've finished 73-83, which will be the evening of 3 April.

Does everyone else expect to have their sieving finished by then?

87-88 should be finished by the 1st of April, 71-73M was initially planned to finish around April 6th. I can possibly accelerate it a bit by using an additional CPU which is currently crunching Fermat numbers.

I will be in Munich for one or two days next week, so I don't know if I can upload the relations on April 3rd (late evening), or I have to interrupt earlier and upload what I have by then.

I've just submitted 83-87.

I can do a range of 1 million in 1 day, so if anyone wants to split up a range they are working on, I can probably do 3 or 4 million between now and the "due date".

The missing part of 39-41M as well as 50-53M are currently uploading.
