I subscribe! Very good work Dubslow!

nitpicking: todo: in the main page search for "als note". Change it to "aslo note" :P
(still reading)

edit: still hate the colors. At least make the dark blue darker! I have to use "select all" to be able to read without eye-ache.

edit2: it may be my browser (strange color settings? can firefox do that?) but this is what I see, see attach. The orange on light blue is also almost impossible to read....

Like I've said, anyone who suggests an alternate scheme will get their wish. Hex codes would be preferable, but if you said "make it green and orange" that'd be fine. I'll make the dark blue darker.

(And I'm still looking for answers to my previous questions before implementing "previous update" info.)

PS Is that a 2*3^11 I saw? (And I can read the orange on light blue just fine, even in your pic I realize though that many will find the colors ugly, but I like blue )

I think the time is not needed for last progressed. I think the columns should go before the reservation column.

more nitpicking:
- heads of the table do not scale with the firefox window. If I resize the window left-right, the columns go in the weeds.
-vertical white space added at the end of the page, after the table. 2-3 rows would be enough. Usually other pages have there some row with copyright, thanks to, other bla bla, done with php message, but even two blank rows would suffice. As it is now, looks like the table is saw-cut by the lower edge of my monitor.
- vertical scrollbar for statistic tables, specially the one in the middle (the stat page). C'mon! you won't push me to scroll down all the firefox window to read the info in the mid-table, then come back up to read the other table, and so on... I may want to consult all of them in the same time

Should the Progress column go before or after the Class or Last Updated columns?

The <div> containing the table has width set up at 90%, and presumably the JS uses the size of the div to set column widths. I think it's possible to fix, but it'd be at the low end of my list.

Will fix.

Blarg... the stats page uses the same JS as PrimeNet does, which is good for me because it's "plug and play". The JS for the main table is way different and way harder to use... once everything else is done (besides the column widths) I'll change the JS to the fancier one.

I decided I was more interested in trying out some new Python ideas than waiting for an answer, so I made my own decision.

The new column prints either the delta-index if it's greater than zero, or else it prints the (approximate) date of last progress.

There were also a number of significant behind the scenes changes. With the help of some Python black magic, rearranging the columns should be much less work from now on.

Additionally, when I initially added the links, they were "hardcoded" into the table data -- causing an undesirable 3x increase in the size of the data. I undid that, and instead used another of the many (many) API functions of DataTables to render the links on the fly.

By the time most of you read this, the Recent Progress column will have appeared on the stats page.

Edit: @Henry: Initial counts show that 110/275, or (exactly) 40% of the seqs had been extended, and 97 of those, aka almost all of the 110, had been extended by 4 lines or less. I suspect we can thank yafu@home for that. I also suspect that checking the recent line before the actual seq might increase load. I guess I'll wait to collect more data, and of course I'll reconsider if/when yafu@home reaches its goal.

Well, I'd've edited this if I could... thanks to some helpful hints from kar_bon, the table data size is now quite a bit less than it was, which should mean the JavaScript goes faster as well as faster initial transfer/loading. You may notice some of the differences.

Could you sort recent-progress numerically rather than as a string - at the moment 85 comes between 8 and 9, and 2012-07-23 comes between 2 and 22.

That might change as the week goes by. I initially had dates and numbers both as strings, but then I changed numbers to, well, numbers. That's why in the stats table for it there's two entries for 1 and "1", 2 and "2", etc. I'll figure it out though (may take up to the week).

Okay, it should sort properly now. Dates compare less than ints, so it goes 5/4/3/2/1/2012-07-27/.../2012-07-20/. Let me know if anyone thinks it should be otherwise. (And my sequence from last week is by far the leader for most extended in the last week. )

In other news, I also made a AllSeq.txt file available in the old format for anyone who wants to grep through it to do analysis that the table can't. (This might be useful for new subprojects, etc.) It's got all the same info as the HTML table.

Next on the list: Fancifying the stats page as per LaurV's request.
