Prime found! The first search is finished:
145048 * 37544096 + 1 (14647 digits) Although, still shit out of luck for the other one. 22 hours, got nothing. Next search: Generalized Proth: k * 2611300 + 1 (15995-15996 digits). I'll let it sieve for the night. Last fiddled with by 3.14159 on 2010-07-25 at 03:40 Reason: Timing incorrect!!! |

Hmm.. The search has surprisingly yielded nothing at all, after 30 hours. Even at worst case odds, 1 in 46k, I was supposed to have a prime 12 hours ago.

More submissions: 201181 * 2611300 + 1 (15995 digits). That one was relatively quick compared to the other searches. Sieved up to 1 trillion. Hopefully something comes up soon for the other search.
10222 * 61800 + 1 (1405 digits) 6352 * 62300 + 1 (1794 digits) 8440 * 62300 + 1 (1794 digits) 7736 * 62302 + 1 (1796 digits) 7737 * 63100 + 1 (2417 digits) 12148 * 63100 + 1 (2417 digits) A power interruption ruined the main search. I remember the cutoff value for k, however, so it's no great loss. The only downside: I'm going to have to do 2-4 hours of sieving. Again. Last fiddled with by 3.14159 on 2010-07-25 at 13:59 |

More submissions: (Base: 18, Exponent: 3900): Range tested: 26k to 46k:
26880 * 183900 + 1 (4900 digits) 28796 * 183900 + 1 (4901 digits) 29370 * 183900 + 1 (4901 digits) 32730 * 183900 + 1 (4901 digits) 34168 * 183900 + 1 (4901 digits) 35523 * 183900 + 1 (4901 digits) 37313 * 183900 + 1 (4901 digits) 42612 * 183900 + 1 (4901 digits) Also: Still sieving for the k * 779068192 + 1 prime. I'm planning on doing at least 2x the sieving I did last time around. Last fiddled with by 3.14159 on 2010-07-25 at 18:32 |

This is more important!
I have to check, if I can find a prime with a factor > 2^30! Sorry, this had to be written here! Last fiddled with by kar_bon on 2010-07-25 at 20:03 |
