I was wondering too. And I think I found: the Sing Sing prison.

Bingo!
It seems the name comes from an aboriginal American name (variously transliterated) that rhymes with "sing sing" and means "stone on stone." There is (or was) a quarry there. The village was named Sing Sing, but after the residents got tired of their town being identified with the prison, they changed its name to Ossining. Alas, the prison's name was subsequently changed to "Ossining Correctional Facility" but, fortunately, the name Sing Sing has stuck to the prison.
Its location gave rise to the expression "up the river" for prison.
