R400 is enormous and slow- I broke the k-range into 5 parts. Two of them are done to 10k (up to k=4M), while the other three are done only to 5k and in progress (4-8M, 8-14M, 14-20M).
I didn't...

Second ECM run complete, on the number quoted here.
The third of four in the list was factored by yoyo; I'll work on #4 in a week or so when I finish ECM on 13_2_929m1.

R36 is complete to 420k (840k base 6, as LLR expresses the candidates).

R327 has reached 715k.
I'm continuing, still one core on each of the 3 k-values.
Would Gary like the results files so far?

3 large prime jobs produce matrices 10-20% larger than jobs with 2LP on both sides, when comparing the same-size job (both SNFS and GNFS). I usually go for 5-10% more raw relations when stepping from...

I am mostly an observer to this project, but any changes that make the underlying math easier to understand / do on one's own seems a clear win for the project.

I don't see a hard limit as a concept for any of the sievers- before the era of f-small, we showed that 15e can handle GNFS-198 and similar-sized SNFS. That doesn't mean it's a good idea, because...

What problem does this idea solve that isn't solved by an existing blockchain? Why is this better, from a crypto standpoint?

How would you make the numbers to be factored of any interest...

Reserving 13_2_927m1.
I've decided to do some 16f sieving from Q=20-25M locally, so I may as well solve the matrix when ready.

You really ought to consider how many [expected] trials it would take to find one counterexample. I mean, Charybdis spelled it out for you, but you seem to have ignored him. A one in 10^50 chance per...

First one done (quoted number for clarity), 1000@65e7 and 800@12e8.
Starting second one now.
Haven't finished building the new desktop yet, which is why this is taking 3x as long as I expected.

Was gonna say... yield of 1 is never ever a good idea. C169 is right on the edge of 15e-small.

Not really; you'll have a slightly higher duplicate rate, meaning you may need an extra 1-3M raw relations to get the matrix size you expect. Sieve time will barely change.

As long as the input number is close, comparing E-score is pretty accurate (as I did in my previous post). It shouldn't matter whether you go with 163 or 165 or 166 next time for the mfb 89 trial....

Looks like a 6% better scoring poly than the last test, but only 4% lower sieve time.
Nearly a wash, but I=14 is also lower memory while being not-slower.

I don't understand your question- 241 *is* the difficulty of this poly. It's just that quartics are much much harder than 5th or 6th degree polys at that size. "241" isn't a rating of how long the...
