As I am stuck with "my number" and don't want to waste full t30 level, I will now run a P-1 with B1=15M and then two P+1 with B1=7.5M for 19491001. Let's see if I get lucky...

Don't worry, I "wasted" only a few of them, i.e. less than 10 GHzd. Consider it as P-1 doublecheck. The laptops mainly do "useless" stuff anyway, such as trying to finally find a factor for 20825573...

Unfortunately, axn poached that list of P-1 on at least one exponent 5547953. So I will stop working on any exponents for now, please "unreserve" everything. I probably work to irregularly and am not...

Thanks masser, thanks petrw for exporting those assignments. I found this link here which you probably used: https://www.mersenne.ca/pm1_worst.php.

Of course I will give enough RAM. My laptop has...

P-1 Factoring

I would like to contribute a little P-1 factoring from my irregularly running notebook. Ideally for smaller ranges (<10M).
Unfortunately, I cannot reserve on GPU72, seems like there are no P-1...

Something strange is going on here, suddenly it keeps saying 100% done. Version was Linux64,Prime95,v30.7,build 5. I might have accidentially changed the B1 sizes in worktodo.txt after a save file...

Found a nice P+1 factor, with 101 bits it is currently in the top 10 of Mersenne factors found by P+1. And k is prime, too! M836683 (https://www.mersenne.ca/exponent/836683).

Minor bug report: M836683 (https://www.mersenne.ca/exponent/836683) has a factor with a single, prime k but it shows up as P-1 smooth in the "P+1 section" because it has an "empty list" of factors.

Don't worry. I have tried to write a Python script which would consider all the P-1, TF and ECM information available for a given exponent and then decide what is best next, but it is very hard to...

Based on my gutfeeling (which is similiar to George (https://mersenneforum.org/showpost.php?p=577072&postcount=247)'s gutfeeling), you should do the following:

1) If there is already some ECM...

Yes, this should be fixed. I have mentioned this in post #188 (https://mersenneforum.org/showpost.php?p=576609&postcount=188), too.

I am wondering what the optimal P-1/P+1/ECM strategy is and what...

This might be because I did some very small (B1=100000) PP1 test for this exponent already yesterday. Started at exponents above 123000 and moved on a few exponents. Does anyone know which B1 is...

Not sure if it is stupid what I'm doing (it most probably is), but I'm getting stuck for an unreasonable amount of time in the "initializing step" for stage 2 and the CPU is only used a few percent...

You are right. I'm confused, too. I don't have the line from results.txt anymore, but mersenne.ca (https://www.mersenne.ca/exponent/70553939) definitely tells me that it was found with e=12. I can't...

Yes, it did. I tried to understand why this large factor 195509617 of k for my factor of M70553939 (https://www.mersenne.ca/exponent/70553939) has been found with e=12 Brent-Suyama and a B2 of only...

Ok, this was not obvious to me. I always assumed it would calculate 3^{\frac{2^n-1}{p}} \text{ mod } \frac{2^n-1}{p} instead (assuming p is one or more factor). Then the residues would be different.

I used mprime and the residue B786DF1732AE7343 is the one which mprime reported in the results.json.txt. I filed a bug in the Primenet section (https://mersenneforum.org/showthread.php?t=26448).

C-PRP residue identical with different factors

Hi, yesterday I did just for fun a P-1 test for the small, already factored number M3331331 (https://www.mersenne.org/report_exponent/?exp_lo=3331331&full=1). This number had one known factor and two...

I found a very easy one (randomly selected a nice number and spent <1 GhzD effort) in M3331331 yesterday, but the number was factored previously: mersenne.ca (http://mersenne.ca/M3331331), Primenet...
