The "Smallest composite without known factors" on the status page often points to http://factordb.com/index.php?id=1100000000900935563, but that number is actually prime.

Is it possible to fix...

No. The modular exponentiation for decryption does take a little longer than for encryption, but it's plenty fast on any modern computer.

The problem is figuring out WHAT the decryption exponent...

Since the world's Mersenne Forum's best minds have tried to factor M1277 and none has succeeded, it must mean that 2^1277-1 is impossible to factor ... which makes it the world's most secure RSA...
