torture test help
I had a problem with a game called championship manager 4. It kept on crashing to the desktop without an error message. I was told by the creators of the game to conduct a torture tes on my pc, which I have. The problem now after coducting the torture test it gave me an error.i dont have a clue as to how sort the error out .
So can some one please help as I have read the readme.txt files but i dont understand. Thank you |
Post the error here. It is recorded in the results.txt file
|
side note:
Maybe we should ask Eidos to mention prime95 in the manual of their games or even link GIMPS in the help-files? Come on: Every self-respecting elite-gamer should at least do one successful double-check to glue a glowing "Prime 95 DC approved - this box is uber" sticker on his system  |
This what i get when i conduct the torture test
"FATAL ERROR:rounding was 0.49999837875, expected less then 0.4 Hardware failure detected, consult stress.txt file. Torture test ran 0 minutes 1 error 0 warnings execution halted" also where is the stress.txt file located Thanl you pleas help |
The stress.txt and the results.txt are located in the directory you installed prime95 in.
If you have no idea where that is, please use the "seek files" function of your windows operating system to find those files. Open the results.txt with your favourite editor (e.g. notepad) and post the lines containing the error and some lines before and after the error message here. If there is NO "disregard last error..." message in your results.txt ofter the error, you have a problem with your system. In that case: Have you overclocked your system? Can you run popular gaming-benchmarks like 3DMark2001 or Aquamark on your system for an hour without a problem? Please give us more details here (describe your computer as good as you can - perhaps some information about the CPU (AMD or Intel) and/or the vendor) |
well this is what i get from the result.txt file

By any chance do you have an ECS or PCChips motherboard??
|
help
How do I check that out
|
Go do cpuid.com and d/l CPU-Z. It'll tell you all about your mobo, chipset, RAM and CPU.
My guess is you have bad RAM. What are you using anyway? |
