Add another 100 cores to that and you might be pretty close
Is there enough work loaded for 400 cores?
Not a chance. Are you serious? If so, I'll need to send all the way up to n=400K. We're blasting through n>2500 per day right now so would have just have enough with the large range that I sent you last night to last through the rally, but that would assume no increase in current cores. I think we're going to redefine the words 'large file'. lol If you feel we should be prepared for up to 400 cores running the rally, I'll definitely send you a file to n=400K. If not, I'll probably still need to send up to n=385K. Gary |
Send me a LARGE file BEFORE the rally starts please.
Rumor has it close to 140 cores from Free-DC so far... Plus what ever you guys bring to the table to counter that ... Then what we might bring to counter your counter... :missingteeth: |

At the same time, I have files now ready for temporary ports 2000 and 3000. I'll make a public announcement about what those are about in the news thread. ROLP folks, you better be bringin' everything you have! Max, I added 4 slow cores for me to ROLP. I'll bring my Window's laptop and desktop to the fray. I may bring my kid's laptop too if they aren't too busy with it. Gary |
David, so...Brian (PCZ) will be running the rally? Cool!
We're at 166+ cores now. Let's see if we can get it to 200. I sent a PM to Lennart yesterday. Perhaps he will join.
I don't think i can join the rally this time. I have sievework in most computer that shall be finnished before 30 Jan. I shall also run PG Challange. "The Year of the Ox Challenge Challenge " 5 days on 321. Good luck everyone  /Lennart |
Running out of of work during the rally would not be good.
Best send a really big file to IB :) |

Best send a really big file to IB :)
A huge file was sent to David a little while ago: 285,150 pairs for n=375000-400000 plus the range of n=~368000-375000 that will be in there from the current range at the start of the rally. According to my best estimate, it will take ~800-900 CPU days to process or just over 2 days for 400 cores. We'll watch it closely on Saturday to see what rate the pairs are being processed. If we need more, we'll send another large file. Processing such a huge range in 2 days would warm my heart greatly! Gary |

Maybe I'll clean some dust out of my dualcore this week to give it a little extra "edge" (it's getting dusty again and the CPU temperatures are hovering around 72 C, which is the point at which they will start to slow themselves down). |
I be slapping down 7 on the table.
4 fast 3 slow. I'll see if I can tip over Max :p |
Max! You need to run out and by you a fist full of quad q6600 crunchers, you have two days!

I think I need 10 more quads. Give me a week. :missingteeth: |
