I forgot to mention this before, but in addition to representing North America, all of my sieve results during the rally should go down for team Raiders of the Lost Primes. Oddball, just to verify: this range will only get partial credit, right? If I'm understanding the whole 24-hour grace period thing right, I can reserve a range up to 24 hours in advance of the official start time but I must correspondingly finish it as far in advance of the stop time in order to receive credit for the full 5 days. Would this be correct? Reserving 3680T-3685T (range 2). |

Would this be correct?
That is correct. You reserved that range on April 13, 18:49 GMT and finished it on April 18, 23:26 GMT. Since you took a bit longer than 5 days to complete it, you'll only get credit for 15.4T during the rally. However, you'll get credit for the entire 16T range in the all-time stats rankings.
How much more time left in the rally?
The rally's over. You reserved your first range on April 13, 17:14 GMT, so you had to finish your ranges before April 18, 17:14 GMT to get full rally credit. The 3620T-3680T range was completed on April 18, 23:59 GMT, so you'll only get partial credit for it. However, 3000T-3120T and 5500T-5530T were done before April 18, 17:14 GMT, so you'll get full credit for both ranges. To clarify, your total rally credit is 120+30+46.6 = 196.6T The rally stats for everyone will be up in the next day or two. |
Gribozavr, could you upload:
- A new k<100K, n=486300-490000 file with all known factors removed - A new 100K<k<200K, n=480000-483000 file with all known factors removed - A combined sieve file (k<10M, 480K-490K) with all known factors removed We'll need them for the LLRnet and PRPnet servers, which will run out of k/n pairs in a couple of hours. Also, I'd like the combined sieve file to see whether sieving the entire 480K-490K file at once will extend the optimal sieve depth past 6002T. |

FYI, this was done using a Core 2 Duo at 3GHz with 3.25 GB of RAM using Windows XP. The sieve speed for the n=485K-490K file using one core is 29M p/sec. This one missed the rally cutoff by a long shot. :sick: I seriously overestimated the speed of this machine when picking out my original range, and since my only access to it is remote, it wasn't convenient to upload a portion of the range to get credit for the rally. Gary, if you're reading this, now I see exactly what you mean about your first-generation AMD Phenoms being complete and utter stinkers at sieving! (And at LLRing, too... :squash:) |

5390T = 5390 * 10^12 But in the sample why ^12? not 10 or20 :just a convention? Regards John
using multiples of 3 for the exponents reflects the way our number system is constructed: We talk about thousand, million, billion, trillion etc. so we use 10^3, 10^6, 10^9, 10^12 or their SI prefixes k(ilo), M(ega), G(iga), T(era) etc. Apart from that, it is just a matter of what you're used to do. When I think about 10,000,000,000, I think "10G" instead of "10^10". |
