You just might be addicted to GIMPS if you are desperated that there is still no new Mp.
As you know that your computer can run 5% faster if you decrease the temperature by 10 degree, you bay a sleeping bag and a box of your favorite beer on monday morning, open the window, drink a beer and go sleeping in the sleeping bag. Slow down your system and speed up Gimps ! |
Thread title if + you can swallow down an entire range of exponents with your high end kits.
In my dream I went to: Account / My Account / Results
to see if I've found any factors, expecting a couple; but I see over a dozen and it's so exciting I physically woke up. PS sadly it was only a dream. I did not see a dozen when I wake up.
I remember one night I dreamed of factoring M1277 by myself. But on the next morning, I went to mersenne.ca and looked for exponents around 1100. I lost hope immediately when I saw how HUGE these factors are. And then I think we won't factor M1277 in 5 years. |

I did not see a dozen when I wake up.
I had a dream about a month ago of a new Mersenne prime being found in 70M range (I remember seeing the exponent in the table of known primes, it was 76xxxxxx or 78xxxxxx, or possibly 79xxxxxx, but I don't remember the rest of the number, even though I remember seeing the entire exponent, so I can't check if it's a Mersenne prime, or even check if the dream exponent itself is a prime at all.) Maybe it will be discovered by the DC wavefront and I will have predicted the prime. Fingers crossed! PS: If someone knows a hypnotist, I might give it a try to remember the number. |

You go into "road warrior" mode, and the first thing you do when you get Internet access is launch your Colab instance...
