500M relations are not enough for L1438 (only 294397430 unique out of 490709259); sieving more to get 600M relations. The duplication rate appears lower for L5895B (328530931 unique out of 497451947)

(5/1: L5895B with 497M raw relations gives 52.16M matrix at density 70; doing more sieving to aim for 550M relations)

It would be really good if we could figure out some way of opening up a 16e queue for user submissions in 2019 - 16e gets much better yields and duplicate rates above GNFS190. GNFS200 is entirely practical with 16e, the linear algebra takes me a month, but sieving GNFS200 on my personal resources takes a season.

It's more like a GNFS-195 (logN=194.73) and the E-value is rather low (6.92e-15 as compared to 9.36e-15 for a logN=192.91 which was 38.5M density-126 (128 didn't work).

I've enlarged the range a bit, hoping for 700M unique relations when that's done.

I’ve just remember that once someone recovered the file for me and uploaded it to the server, just not sure if it was Tom or Greg though. It would be quicker to request Greg.

Forget. Winrar com only recover zip or rar files. Anyway, at least I’ve upgraded winrar to latest version.

Intriguing idea. Maybe a combined remdups/gzrepair feature would save server disk space?

Though it might require one to wait for sieving to be completely finished until those utilities run if it was an automated process.

Yes, downloaded the file completely. Unfortunately there is a data error in the file that appears at 92% extraction. Time for repair on this end. :surrender

swellman PM'ed me to link a previous post discussing this. I changed the sign of all coefficients on both algebraic and rational sides in the .fb file, and the square root is presently running.

F1441 is an obligatory quintic and as such was somewhat resistant to yield at its perceived size of snfs-273. It is rather behaving more akin to a high snfs-28N-ish.
With top-off sieving and shaving a lot of redundant relations (approaching 40% near end: last 50M raw yield only 30M unique), a 32M matrix was built with density 120 but not 126.

ETA is 2-4 weeks (on a variable load regimen).
