Report top5000 primes for all k<=1001
Please report all top5000 primes for k<=1001 in this thread.
Kar_bon has a list of all primes found and searchranges previously completed on the k's that we will be searching [URL="http://www.rieselprime.de/Data/00300.htm"]here[/URL]. It includes all known nranges starting at n=1 and will be updated as we complete nranges and find primes. For 300<k<=1001 and n>=260K, the ranges and primes will be shown in the team drives here. Instructions for submitting a top5000 prime: Go to [URL]http://primes.utm.edu/primes/home.php[/URL]. Step 1: For people who have not submitted top5000 primes previously, create a prover account: 1. Select 'Submit' on the lower left side under 'Join in'. 2. Select the 'click here to create a proveraccount' link in the middle of the page. 3. Fill out the form and submit it. You will be assigned a prover account. Step 2: Create a proof code: 1. Go to the home page in the link above and select 'Index' on the left side under 'Provers'. 2. Next to 'search proveraccounts', type yours and press enter. 3. Click on your prover account (there may be one or several) and press enter. 4. Towards the bottom, click on 'Create a New ProofCode' and press enter. 5. If necessary in the little popup box, type in your user name (prover account) and password and press enter. 6. You should now have a list of proof programs. Select LLR. 7. In the space below all the programs that says "none", type "NPLB, srsieve, psieve" (WITH the commas but without quotes) for the project and sieving software. [If you did an individualk search on your own, then the software may vary.] 8. You should now have a new proof code and can submit the prime. Example...L442. Step 3: Submit the prime: 1. Go to the home page in the link above and select 'Index' on the left side under 'Provers'. 2. Next to 'search proofcode', type your new code from step 2 and press enter. 3. Towards the bottom, next to 'Submit primes using this code as', click on your name (prover account) and press enter. 4. If necessary in the little popup box, type in your user name (prover account) and password and press enter. 5. You should see a big freeform box. Type in your prime (no spaces needed) and click 'Press here to submit these prime(s)'. 6. A verification screen will come up. If the prime is correct, click 'Press here to complete submission'. Gary

It's not quite top5000 material but here's the first one to get us started:
745*2^3332391 is prime (100318 digits) This is pretty good for this kvalue. Even thought it's relatively average weight, up to n=260K, its previous highest prime to date was at n=75771. Gary

This is confirming Jasong's prime, which was a new prime when he found it. Karsten, as stated previously, give Jasong full credit for his first prime in this range and give Carlos full credit for this one. I will change post 1 of the drive 2 thread to reflect it as such. Since this was done on a server, now I'm not sure how to credit the k/n pairs that were tested. Initially I said to give Jasong credit for 1 200n range and Carlos credit for the other 4 200n ranges. Karsten or anyone else, I'll leave it up to others to determine how best to score this. Giving Jasong 20% credit for the range tested seems reasonable but I know that complicates the heck out of scoring for a range that was done on both LLRnet and manually. Ugh! Gary

In balancing primes found in results files with what I had in the first post of drive 2, I found these 3 missing primes from IronBits server port 500 (6000) from drive 2 that never got posted in this thread. This caused me to miss them in the first post of drive 2.

When Benson finds a prime for k=3001001, he reports it as PrimeSearch! He's HELPING us!! Go Benson go! lol Of course it's a little annoying that he gets them instead of one of our faithful searchers but that's OK. There are plenty of primes for everyone here since we're searching all k's. This is an EXCELLENT example of why lower k's must be searched higher. Let's continue to maintain a higher priority on drive 3 but keep some cores running drive 1 too. I think this clinches what the next rally should be run on...drive 3 again. Gary
