I'm somewhat surprised that there isn't a thread dedicated to our furry, feathered, scaled, slimy friends. Time to start one. Please share pictures and stories of your pets!
I introduce you to Hannah, a 12 year old Bengal rescue whom we adopted on New Year's Day. This was better than any Christmas present anyone of us got . She is an adorable cat and loves to sit on laps and get attention. |

And this is Aurora; we got her from the Humane Society 10 or so years ago. She's the studious one.

These were my first cats, Artemis (grey) and Ares (black). They got along really well, but eventually I had to put him down in 2008 and her in 2009. He was one of my favorites. He loved to jump up on furniture in order to get access to my shoulders.

This is our current cat, Dinky. When in the right mood, he loves belly rubs. He also loves my laptop, which is nice and warm while searching for primes.

Here are pictures of three of our current six kittens. The first is of Phobos and Deimos. I found Phobos under a tree as a tiny, starving kitten. Deimos found us when he needed medical attention; he had somehow gotten into some caustic material, and had fifty percent of his body chemically burnt.
The second photo is of Decaf. I got him from a rescue centre over fifteen years ago. He doesn't jump as well as he used to, and sometimes seems to forget why he entered a room, but overall he's in remarkably good health for a cat of his age. P.S. Yes, it is quite common for the cats to command more of the bed than we humans are allowed.... Edit: Oh, I just realized... You can't really see him (except for a tiny bit of his collar reflecting the flash), but Mars is sleeping in the chair at the foot of the bed. |

They will seek help for injuries when another animal or person is trapped, etc. Even some wild animals will approach humans for assistance. It is an amazing thing to see happen.
