I can do the post on this.....

debrouxl 2011-11-29 10:31

Reserving 15M-37M for RSALS, with a possibility of expanding the range above 37M if nobody takes it by the time RSALS clients soak up 15M-37M (it's easier for me to expand a range upwards than downwards)

debrouxl 2011-11-30 08:37

Expanding the RSALS range to 15M-42M.

schickel 2011-11-30 08:43
Expanding the RSALS range to 15M-42M.
Hmmm....should I try to do the 10-15 range? Based on past jobs in this range, that's probably ~2 weeks.

debrouxl 2011-11-30 10:08

Well, it's up to you, but RSALS could unblock the sequence faster than you could

schickel 2011-11-30 11:07
Well, it's up to you, but RSALS could unblock the sequence faster than you could
Heh....that's what I was thinking, though you said it was easier to extend up than it was to extend down. How hard is that going to be?

debrouxl 2011-11-30 12:53

It's pretty easy, in fact: in order to expand a range downwards, I have to create a new entry in the automatic WU generation system, which takes a couple minutes
(editing the "end q" field takes mere seconds)

I usually don't reserve for RSALS from the bottom of a range, because it kicks out individual factorers from the most productive ranges.

EDIT: done, I have queued 10M-15M.

There's always a first time...
Anyway, you need to fulfill RSALS brotherhood, then after vote from all members you will receive or not login details to the server where you can download the relations. Don't forget that you should not upset Master SL, very busy wise man.

Carlos

PS( I'm joking...)
PS2 (All sieve jobs were sent out, current dat.gz file size is 769MB)

I think you need to decide where your priorities lie.

debrouxl 2011-12-04 14:18

Less than 200 results out of 3200 (10M-42M) remain to be returned to the RSALS server, so post-processing can start

(Peeking just now...did you put all the results into the first batch folder? If so, then I have them all.)

pinhodecarlos 2011-12-04 14:57

Frank, all relations are on the first folder.
Frank, all relations are on the first folder.
In that case, I'll get to the right machine and see if the downloading finished last night.

If so, I can transfer everything over to the other box and see what happens.....

Server is down...

I've got everything downloaded. Now I just have to get it unpacked and start filtering, etc....

I'll let you know how it goes.

You can probably finish before me. Keep an eye out, though, because I will benchmark it....

It would help if I set up some higher speed wireless infrstructure at home.....
Please post the msieve log. Thank you.
Sorry, this is the first chance I've had to catch up. Unfortunately, I did the filtering on one system, then moved everything to the big one for the LA. I forgot to copy the log file with the .cyc file, so I don't have that part, just the LA and squareroot....sorry.

Interesting thing: mine took a lot longer than your ETA was. I guess I'll have to try 2...6 threads and see which comes out fastest.
