A prime story...
 

Spoken in the tone of the narrarator for "A Christmas Story"; you know the one with the BB gun, the kid who gets his tongue stuck to the frozen pole, etc.; that one?:

Congrats! We became tied with TPS earlier today for slot 3 because some other project bumped another 333333 off the list, these primes just finished it off so we are really in spot 3.

Unbelievable. 4 primes within n=45 of each other!!

I think Karsten had 4 new primes in a single n=200 manual LLR reservation earlier but that was at a lower range and I think they were more spread out than this. A truly remarkable run of primes here.

What's even more amazing is that 2 of the 4 are for k=400-500, which have many more previously found primes than any other 100k range for k=400-1001.

Final tally: 13 top-5000 primes from midnight to midnight GMT!!

Definitely a new daily record for NPLB. I seem to recall 11 previously but I'm not sure if they were all top-5000.

All new except one...What a run!

Even better...with Karsten's last prime, we're at 13 primes from midnight-now CDT U.S. with >3.5 hours to go...amazing. Perhaps we'll get another couple of them before midnight here. :smile:
