this should make NPLB in prime score on place 6! and me holding the 5 biggest primes submitted with LLRnet on NPLB! |
Outstanding! Nice prime Karsten. One huge and one smaller target reached within 6 hours of one another.
This should now give us 1002 primes. |

If you do not state "confirmed", it is new. Karsten will know the difference. Some people choose to put the response from the top-5000 site. If it is a new prime, it will state "added". If it has already been found, it will state "already in database". Either way is fine. I realize the term "confirmed" can be a little ambiguous. Gary |

@Zach - it took me a while to get used to it too. Prime = new prime = added (to Top 5000 database) you want these critters :) Confirmed = old prime that you double checked and don't get ANY (!) recognition for [not fair I know] = already in database (at Top 5000 database) you don't want these beasts :( Have stern words to your computer and tell it to go find some new primes! |
Have stern words to your computer and tell it to go find some new primes!
Yes - I'll do that...:missingteeth: ...but - as you may noticed I'm runnin' against the IB5000-server, and I'm not alone doin' that... and 'the other guy' is a real tough one - grabbin' (almost) all the primes (critters and beasts)... it's a hard world out there... |

Oh no... Vaughan outruns me 10 to 1 !!! Well.. at least 5 to 1.... so I just pick up the pieces after he has ridin' over the 'kn-pairs' with his tremendous 'GHz-powah':batalov: |
Zach,
Just to let you know, you got a little unlucky to find the "confirmed" prime. For the 5th and 6th drives that run on ports IB4000 and IB5000, at most 10% of the effort is a double check so about 10% of the primes will have been already found. Gary |

the next (hope not last) from the first 6 k's mini-drive.
Nice prime--congratulations! BTW, to all: if some of you wouldn't mind concentrating some resources on the first 6-k minidrive (port G8000) until it's dried, it would be greatly appreciated. I would like to get this port dried before we move all the servers over to Gary's new server; the less port number overlaps we have to resolve, the better. I myself will be shifting an entire quad to G8000 in about a week or so when its current workload finishes, and I've sent an email to Gary asking him to join in as well. |

Congrats! So this is now the new No.1 of the biggest primes here. (The next 7 places are mine!)
Not sure if you're aware of this, but I found this on a private PRPnet server, run on my quad and only accessed by my quad. So then this is NPLB's second largest prime yet, and the largest found on an LLRnet/PRPnet server (and is 40k digits more than the largest found on a public LLRnet/PRPnet server). And BTW I have it set up to export its results to the NPLB DB every night. So this prime will be appearing in the NPLB DB around midnight CDT. |

I've literally run 1000s of tests at CRUS and previously at RPS and never been able to hit a megabit one yet. Alas, I will get one in this drive at some point, whether it be in the 6k drive or with individual reservations. There will be plenty to go around. Do you suppose that is the smallest megabit Riesel prime for k<400 on the top-5000 site? If so, is it the smallest for both Riesel and Sierp? That's pretty cool that one came around so quickly. |

From looking at the top 5000 list, definitely yes. It's the smallest megabit prime for Riesel or Sierp with k<1213. These are the megabit primes up to his:
345a 345*2^1000251-1 301109 L536 2010 346b 1213*2^1000099-1 301063 L121 2010 347 8009271*2^1000005-1 301039 g396 2009 348 1611111*2^1000000+1 301037 p197 2007 349 1089927*2^1000000+1 301037 p197 2006 350 32883*2^1000004+1 301036 p86 2002
Coincidentally, Karsten's megabit prime, which has a k of 345, has an entry and current (as of this post) rank of 345. Congrats on the big prime!
