David Except that if my example was indeed small talk at its best, I was not exactly extolling its virtues:) |

I remember Roger Penrose suing some manufacturer for incorporating his tiling on their loo paper. |
I remember Roger Penrose suing some manufacturer
for incorporating his tiling on their loo paper.
I have some of that paper with the Penrose tiling pattern, and would be interested if anyone knows if there is any truth to this story. Penrose has a wry sense of humor, and might have said something like this in jest, but I think that in reality he would have been honored. Now that we know that Penrose tiling predates Penrose by 500 years, a lawsuit probably wouldn't hold up in court anyway: http://www.sciencenews.org/view/generic/id/8270/title/Math_Trek__Ancient_Islamic_Penrose_Tiles |
Four shades suffice
Considering the intended usage, one shade should be enough.

Given the present context, perhaps we need a four-flusher corollary? |

We can always rely on Ernst to maintain the tone of a conversation. I've enjoyed my 60th birthday for several reasons, this repartee being one:smile: David |
