Just a head's up George... Spidy is reporting very slow responses from Primenet, often with complete time-outs of requests.

Might be time for a reboot....

The Primenet server is taking a very long time to answer queries again.

I've reduced my spidering to once an hour until someone gets a chance to reset the server.

She's dead, Jim...
 

Since 2015 UTC not a single query to Primenet by "Spidy" has completed.

Primenet immediately responds with:[CODE]pnErrorResult=3 pnErrorDetail=Database unavailable ==END==[/CODE]

It seems to be working right now. Keep your fingers crossed as I think Scott, James, and I are all out of town. Scott should be back tomorrow.

I think Scott dealt with it -- I also e-mailed him.

I have to ask (again) though, is there any reason this can't be scripted and automated? Either based on empirical data from the server, or just once a day or once a week or something?

Clearly there's a memory / handle / process and/or et al leak somewhere. Resetting the server once a day or once a week could eliminate human interaction requirements under "normal" situations.

There´s still something funny with the TF work. The Cleared Exponents report has no record of TF results after 6:00 PM. I don´t really believe people have not submitted any TF results for the last 6 hours...

I have, at least twice. Might it take a while for the server to catch up on statistical tasks if it has been generally hung up or impaired?

Did the server accept the results you submitted?

It's probably another case of this - I just sent in some no-factor lines and it took them just fine.

Try again tomorrow and it should be okay, I guess.
