... you strongly believe that governments should be composed only by Prime ministers.

... you are very suspicious of the Prime Meridian; you avoid television during prime time; you eat no steak graded better than USDA choice.

You own a computer faster than 3.2 GHZ.
|
You own a farm of computers with an aggrigate total clock speed of over 5 Ghz.
9-) |

meh ... step aside sonny. Where I come from my measly 10 GHz makes me a punk ... at least my home box average is greater than 2 GHz ...
Scary to think that I have 1333 MHz tbirds gathering dust ... way too slow to run, gasp at the thought of firing up the PIII 750
Originally posted by QuintLeo You own a farm of computers with an aggregate total clock speed of over 5 Ghz. 9-)
|

really. I would take them machines and slave them away. I could turn off the heater at my place....
They could help me get into the top 1000 on LL and Factoring... |
Ok, being the creator of the first "you are a DC Freak When..." Thread (which was, to the best of my knowledge, the first)I figured I would add a reason here too:
I got a K6-II 533 running to post on the internet and listen to CD's on. Just so that my main computers do not get cycles wasted on real things. Not long after I put Prime95 on it (TCC_mgicfn02, with Team Prime Rib). I am now posting from my P120 laptop, to not waste cycles on it..... Now I needt o get a new computer .:surrender |
Dude - I've got over 1 Ghz (actual clock, NOT PR-rating) of K5's ALONE - those have all been doing Trial Factoring. I don't even want to THINK about how long a 33M would take on one of those boxes, even if they had enough RAM to LL with at all....
(figures quickly) Hmmm, not sure if I have 10 Ghz total aggrigate, though - got too many machines down right now, due to the move. I do have over 5 Ghz in Athlons, but that's only 3 machines (all TBred XP1800s at 1.8Ghz or better each). Thunderbird 1.33s should be fine for LL work - I wouldn't waste them on TFing. Especially if you don't concentrate on 33M+ work - they SHOULD do a LL or DC about every 5-6 weeks, possibly a little longer in the current 20ishM range.... |
...if you underclocked an unstable Athlon, so you could at least make it do some work.
