This post contains a list of sequences that haven't changed since the last update. There are usually loads but not this time it seems so far.
Sequence Who Index Size Driver/guide
10528 kar_bon 4725 120 2 * 3^2

552150 Batalov 8197 147 2^2 * 3 * 7^2
Batalov 2010-02-07 18:38

I will re-reserve 556276 now.
I will review some old reservations, too. Some numbers take more than 3 days per iteration (e.g. 147192) so we have to be patient.

I wouldn't want to simply release 552150 into oblivion, but I will be easily convinced if the forum took it as another pet number. Guys, interested?

Maybe, if it drops the 2^2 * 7.

henryzz 2010-02-08 20:16

My update is finally done:smile:

Does 748356 have a driver with
2^3 * 3^2 * 5 or not?
I seem to remember someone saying that 2^3 * 3^2 * 5 can't go down to 2^3 * 3 * 5 but even if that is impossible then surely the sequence has the driver 2^3 * 3
Does 748356 have a driver with

I count 2^3 * 3^2 * 5 as a driver because it can drop back to the ordinary 3^1 when the 5 is squared. However, 2^5 * 3^2 * 7 can't, so that is a guide.

Greebley 2010-02-09 15:34

I personally like thinking of it as a guide because it is easier to escape than for a driver and is unlikely to drop to a single 3 (in which case it would now be a driver). This differs from other square terms which are easier to lose the square (2^2*7^2 for example will often lose the square).

Alternatively, I calculated that the chance of 2^3*3^2*5 escaping is around 1/41 at 100 digits. Just decide if that is 'good enough' for you to run it.

Note that if the 5 is also square you can pick up the down driver.

Incidentally, 2^3*3 is also easier to escape than any other driver and is about the same chance as 2^3*3^2*5 - around 1/40. If one defined a driver based on the chance of escape, I don't think either of these would qualify for drivers.

I did quite a bit work on that sequence, but reporting is impossible because it is broken on the database (and cannot be repaired).

I will keep it for the time being to prevent other people doing duplicate work.

It is possible to delete the last few indexes?
So i could submit the corrected version then.

That is this project's 94th termination (according to the terminations thread if I've counted correctly). That means that we have terminated almost 1% of the 9446 sequences below 1000000 that were open when this project was founded (March 2009).
Of course 100 terminations is another milestone that is not too far off.

N[SUB]8[/SUB]=12345678 has changed and currently is slowly going up. I've got too slow machine to officially reserve next sequence. Recently I tried other numbers of the form N[SUB]k[/SUB]=123456...[SUB]<k>[/SUB]. For odd k sequences end very quickly (I checked k<48). For even k I found whole sequences of N[SUB]24[/SUB](=123456789012345678901234) and N[SUB]36[/SUB]. They were luckily quite short.

fivemack 2010-08-10 18:10

I notice that I appear to have 812376 reserved; it terminated in February, so I'm not quite sure why it is down as reserved.

Greebley 2010-08-12 15:29

I was comparing my list with this reservations list and found the following differences.

I released 23142 and 724014, but not in the right thread so their release didn't get recorded.

I am still working on 527436. If I accidentally released it then re-reserve it.

Also releasing 26820 since it was updated to the point where it gained a driver.

Batalov 2010-08-14 03:08
