Is January 1, 2021 the time to see the end of FTC LL's?

Prime95 v30 came out of beta in August 2020. PRP with certs are now the norm.
Any new FTC LL's will slow the project vs doing PRP's. Rather than waiting for all the machines doing FTC LL's to be upgraded, it might be well to have the PrimeNet server stop handing them out. If someone has a machine that can't run the latest version of Prime95, there would still be ways for a person to do FTC LL. But, the server should not hand them out. It would be good to set a date for the transition to happen. It could be a phased ending.

(Note: Discussion of forced, server instigated, software upgrades will no be entertained in this thread and are subject to deletion.)

The poll close date 2021-06-22 is several months after what apparently is the proposed 2021-01-01 change in server reservation policy. That's a little late to inform decisions for action just weeks from now.
And, s/I shall may/I shall make/ in the last poll choice.

One could consider treating LL first test preference set in the prime95/mprime clients as "whatever makes the most sense" and then assigning LL DC, PRP, Cert, or P-1 according to the clients capabilities and resources and estimated completion times versus assignment expiration times. With plenty of advance warning. I suggest a minimum of 3 months; 6 months would be better for folks like curtisc with large fleets.

Casual users or Windows Service users may never see the please upgrade note.

Whatever you do, how do you deal with turning results in? I understand you won't assign LL and LLDC out, but one may still continue to turn-in LL and LLDC results without taking any assignments, especially in the 100Md area.

That was my assumption as well. The LL test I'm currently running has an expected completion date of the first week of March.
Whatever you do, how do you deal with turning results in?
The server will still accept results turned in. But, by not assigning new LL's it will cut down on the DC work needed in the future. Those with software that can't handle Certs can still contribute to the project doing DC's. There is work for maybe a decade or more doing DC's.

I voted "Yes, any requests for FTC LL should get DC's.", but with the additional comment that machines running first time PRP but unable to produce proof files should be phased out over the next few months too!!! Maybe give them only PRP-DC after a grace period?
