Sure, the result does obtain on the hypothesis that there is a prime p with n!  n^2 < p < n!1 (not n! as you had), but then you don't need the theorem at all.

Ok I can see the reason why it should be 1, because P=n!1 will yield 1 and 1 is not s prime. Can you please provide links to the references that you mentioned. My googling did not return any relevant hits. Thank you in advance. PS the number of primes above might be off by one for appropriate primes if n!1 is a prime such as for n=4.

n!n^2 < P < n! Nor n!n^2 < P < n!1 But rather n!n^2 < P < n!n Since none of the integers m such that n!n <= m < n! 1 Can be prime. :smile:

If n is 2 mod 3 then n+1 is 0 mod 3 and the result of subtracting it if n is more than 3 will be 0 mod 3.
