The best guess for a country is the number of excess deaths over the number that would normally have occurred over the relevant time period. That doesn't depend on how much testing was done. It's basically deaths from COVID (but not deaths with COVID) plus deaths as a result of COVID from load on health care etc.

It only requires a country to record deaths reasonably accurately. And not fudge the figures for propaganda (yes China, I'm referring to you).

Been following the news about Covid in NK quite closely. Since the first official case reported Thursday last week, it seems to spread like crazy.
I'm suspecting that it's been there for quite a while, only now it became worse enough that they are willing to ask for help.

I'm also envisioning China's strategy having extreme side effects we can hardly even foresee at the moment.

Curiously NK is now reporting 6 deaths, and the same single case.

So 50 people have been brought back from the dead. I never knew NK had such an amazing ability. Maybe next week it will be zero deaths.
